About The Founder

Dahlia Basmadjian

Dahlia's family has been in the restaurant business for years and throughout the duration, Dahlia has noticed the disconnect and discrepancies in the food system, particularly the amount of wasted food that comes from restaurants. She decided to connect the dots and start 3 Sisters Food Rescue to solve this problem.

She hopes that the organization will bridge the gap between food surplus and food insecurity by efficiently redirecting excess food to local communities in need. Ultimately, Dahlia envisions 3 Sisters Food Rescue as a pioneering initiative that transforms the food system, fosters sustainability, and builds a stronger, more equitable community.

Our organization is called “3 Sisters Food Rescue” because Dahlia has 2 younger sisters who she hopes to scale the organization with one day.

Scarlett And Sonia Basmadjian

Scarlett and Sonia are Dahlia’s younger sisters, and they are actively supporting her in launching 3 Sisters Food Rescue. Growing up alongside Dahlia, they too witnessed the injustices in the food system and felt a deep desire to create meaningful change in their community with their sister.

They hope that 3 Sisters Food Rescue will serve as a bridge between surplus and scarcity, ensuring that good food reaches those who need it most. Together, the sisters envision an organization that not only reduces waste, but also fosters sustainability, strengthens local communities, and inspires others to take action.
